When you are in a situation where you cannot use white light from a tactical perspective, our red and green mix will outperform blue light on multiple levels.

First, blue light is hard on your eyes – when you work under blue light then turn it off or look away into darkness your vision will take a significant time to adjust – more so than with our a mix of red and green light. 

Second, blue light creates a much more noticeable signature to the naked eye at distance than does a mix of red and green light – someone looking at you operating under blue light will see you easier than if you were to operate under a mix of red and green light at the same distance, darkness level, viewing angle, etc.

Finally, blue light makes most colored liquids (including blood) appear very dark or black to the eye.  This greatly inhibits one from being able to distinguish the type of liquid they are observing with blue light – especially in a situation where multiple liquids could be present.  A mix of red and green light allows you to clearly distinguish blood from other liquids – giving you the ability to assess the situation and take the appropriate action much faster.

It is not possible to specify LED task light colors in addition to those currently offered. The Tomahawk Task Light is available in blue or ultra-violet (UV), while the integrated task light on the Liberator STT is available in red or white.

No, the CR123A lithium batteries shipped with your light are not the rechargeable variety.

The most common cause of light dimming and subsequent features lose is due to drained batteries. As the batteries are consumed they supply less and less power to the light. To compensate for this issue your light will step down the brightness of the primary white LED from the highest setting, to medium and then low. When battery drain becomes too low features on your light will turn off in order to supply the power to the primary white LED. To restore your light to full functionality please replace your batteries.
